Dr Benham Medical Director at Parkwood HealthcareSoroush Behnam, M.D.
Medical Director

Dr. Soroush Behnam has been the medical director at Parkwood healthcare since 2005. He is a geriatric specialist that graduated from Johannes Gutenberg University in Frankfort Germany. He went on to complete his geriatric fellowship at University of Hawaii in Honolulu. He is part of the Texas Health Physician group specializing in post acute care. He is also teaching a medical intern at North Hills Senior Clinic.

Yousef Kayyas, MD, PulmonoligistYousef Kayyas, M.D.

Dr. Yousef Kayyas is board certified in Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine. He is the founder of Texas Allergy and Breathing Centers, where he has dedicated the past 15 years to making the lives of North Texans better through allergy and immunotherapy treatments.

Dr. Kayyas completed his Internal medicine residency in Englewood, NJ and his Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Fellowships in Little Rock AR. Dr. Kayyas is married with two children and enjoys spending his free time reading or with his family.

Shahida Rafiq, M.D.
Wound Care Medical Director

Dr. Rafiq has more than 20 years of practice and specializes in family medicine and provides expert direction for the wound management program at Parkwood Healthcare. She is affiliated with Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, Dallas Medical Center, and Crescent Medical Center Lancaster. In addition to her hospital affiliations, Dr. Rafiq also has an office at Presbyterian Wound Care Clinic.

Susan Knapton, MDSusan Knapton, M.D.
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Director

Dr. Susan Knapton is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). She graduated from UT Southwestern Medical School and also completed her PM&R residency at UT Southwestern. She is affiliated with Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas.

PM&R physicians are trained in the diagnosis and treatment of injuries and illnesses that cause temporary or permanent impairment and disability. They treat conditions related to the brain, spinal cord, nerves, muscles, and bones. These conditions may be painful and impair a person’s mobility, self-care skills, and ability to participate in their usual activities. Dr. Knapton will work with the entire treatment team at Parkwood to treat the whole person and maximize recovery.
