Meet the Team

Akash loves connecting with team members, residents and families. As Executive Director at Parkwood Healthcare, he participates in rounds and activities with residents, and is involved with their care plans. His passion for seniors began as a child, when he spent hours playing games with his grandmother. He earned a Bachelor of Science in healthcare management from The University of Texas at Dallas.

As Director of Nursing, Rose is dedicated to establishing mutual trust with family members and residents that allow them to be involved in the care offered at Parkwood. She enjoys the perpetual nature of learning that working in senior living provides and she understands the importance of providing, serving and treating residents with respect and dignity through every stage of life.

Dezera has nearly thirty years’ experience as a nurse. She has a passion for caring for seniors and supporting their wellness and health goals.

Latonia has always had a love for working with the senior population, because there is so much to be learned from their knowledge and insight. As Assisted Living Director at Parkwood Healthcare, Latonia appreciates our community’s family-oriented environment, especially among the staff.

Dr. Soroush Behnam has been the medical director at Parkwood Healthcare since 2005. He is a geriatric specialist that graduated from Johannes Gutenberg University in Frankfort Germany. He went on to complete his geriatric fellowship at University of Hawaii in Honolulu. He is part of the Texas Health Physician group specializing in post-acute care. He is also teaching a medical intern at North Hills Senior Clinic.

As Director of Rehabilitation, Shanna enjoys the privilege of working closely with residents at Parkwood. Being a therapist for 18 years in multiple settings has allowed her to develop a unique skill set that is valuable to patients in need of therapy services. She’s proud to be a part of such a caring team, and loves watching residents progress with their mobility and be able to return home.

Lesa’s favorite things about Parkwood Healthcare are the sense of community and the opportunity to build great relationships with residents, family members and staff. As Activities Director, she learns each resident’s story and interests, and creates engaging activities that are catered to them. Lesa loves hearing about the amazing life experiences shared by the seniors she works with.

Lisa brings 14 years of social services experience in nursing facilities. She changed her major to social work after she personally experienced the challenges of an ill elderly parent and had to make the decisions regarding their care which led her to pursue a career in senior living. Lisa is skilled at helping people through difficult times in their lives by help ensuring that the needs of all residents are met and that the short-term residents have a smooth transition back home with resources and services they need. Lisa enjoys dogs, all kinds of music and spending time with family.

As the Business Office Manager, Lakin enjoys being able to assist residents and their families with any financial questions. Taking pride in her position, she loves being able to put a smile on their faces by assuring them that they are in good hands at Parkwood Healthcare.

Angel Vasquez has been in maintenance for 25 years in communities like Parkwood Healthcare. Angel is passionate about senior care and the role he plays in their daily lives. He is very happy to work at Parkwood and to be a part of this excellent team.

In her role as Human Resources Director, Angelique brings more than 10 years of experience in her field. She feels that she is a resident advocate rather than an employee advocate, and is always looking to hire employees who are driven in their field — people who she would love to take care of her own family.

Mark is committed to enhancing the quality of life and meeting the changing needs of the people he serves. He has dedicated his career to serving seniors, combining his Nursing Home Administrator license with a master’s degree in gerontology. He is proud of the culture of compassion the staff has created and feels blessed to work at Parkwood Retirement Community.

A familiar face around our community, Kim is always available to ask how someone is feeling, find out what she can do to brighten our residents’ day, or just be a great listener. She enjoys supporting residents’ individual needs and is focused on their satisfaction.

Reggie brings years of food and beverage experience to Parkwood. Under Reggie’s direction, our food service staff has received high marks from our residents for their service. He has a ServSafe Certificate and upholds our kitchen’s high standards. He enjoys the laughter shared by residents and loves to make people smile.

Carlos brings 10-plus years of experience as a maintenance supervisor for Parkwood Retirement. He oversees all maintenance and security to ensure residents enjoy a safe, attractive and welcoming environment. Along with the daily challenges of keeping Parkwood looking beautiful and operating smoothly, Carlos enjoys interacting with residents.
